Does it work? This is how the purist’s test whether Jesus and Christianity are true. What do WE do when we want to prove something is true or not? We test it, don’t we?
Like that car? Take a test drive.
Wonder if you’re pregnant? Take a pregnancy test.
Do you understand a subject? Take a test.
Will this product sell? Do a test market study.
Is the water cold? Put your toe in and test it.
Do I like this food? Take a taste test.
Is it really that simple but yet profound that we could consider our entire faith, and, for that matter, eternity could be based on a simple testing of the truth? What would the test even look like? Let’s test the following and see what happens; be sincere in doing the following:
Love somebody today
Serve someone today
Give some money away to a poor person
Read the Bible
Pray to Jesus
Attend a church service
Forgive your worst enemy
Encourage someone
Listen to Christian music
Read a Christian book
Feed a homeless person
Care for a widow
Sit on a mountaintop and take in creation
If Jesus and what He taught is true, it will become evident in you. A literal transformation will begin to take place.
God says, “Seek me and you will find me.” Let’s test him at His word. What do you have to lose? Better yet, what do you have to gain?
