Psalms 20:7
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Some trust in….
Their talent
Their strength
Their 401k
Their wisdom
Their position
Their company
Their government
Their teacher
Their wealth
Their spouse
Their team
Their technology
Their doctors
Their pastors
Their church
Every morning, at every turn, in every moment, we face the choice of where we will place our trust. There is nothing wrong with the list above. However, the challenge is how much emphasis we put on each item.
Trust is like gold. Yet, we spend it like spare change. We forget what value it can bring if invested correctly.
Is it possible we can save our trust for God only and use another word to apply to the list?
By removing the word trust, we free up the expectation of the item in question. If I don’t say I trust my doctor but say I appreciate him for his talent, then I can remain grateful but reserve the outcome for Gods provision.
You will find that by doing this you can experience a greater peace and freedom. For God never fails where the items on the list will always come up short and leave you unsatisfied.
Since you will be faced with this decision all day long it’s best to make up your mind ahead of time and not leave it to chance.
