Lord, break my heart today for what breaks Yours.
What are those things that breaks Gods heart? If you’re a parent, what things break your heart when you watch your children grow up? When you watch the news, what things do you see that breaks your heart? I can only imagine what God feels when He sees His children…
Worrying about the little things in life
That are full of anger
That cheat another person
That lie to one another
That steal from each other
That curse and especially when they use His Son’s name
That are selfish
That are greedy
That oppress others by their abuse of power
That destroy His creation
That are starving
That are homeless
That are single moms
Those that don’t believe and will be separated from Him for eternity
A widow that’s all alone
Christians that fight with one another
Go to war with each other
That have been murdered
That have been raped
That are fighting an addiction
That have been caught up in human trafficking
That practice or participate in prostitution
That are depressed and insecure
That lost a loved one
A pastor who falls to temptation
Those who are a part of a Church that closes its doors to the lost
That are going through a divorce
That are being physically abused
That don’t trust Him
That don’t love Him and love another god
That are struck with a debilitating disease
Lord, the more I think about it as I think about it, I would imagine the rain from above are the tears from Your eyes, as You weep over these things. The sadness is from the frustration You feel that You must refrain Yourself from using the almighty power You embody to just snap your fingers and remove all the pain and agony You observe and to know that your children are only a prayer away from receiving You in their life and how You can then guide them through life’s trials.
Lord, amid any one of these trials, we can turn toward You and receive Your peace and strength. By doing so, we can then help our brother or sister do the same.
I again can only imagine how God feels when He hears His children say, “Lord, break my heart for what breaks Yours and use me today to make this world a better place.”
Maybe the ray of sunshine that breaks through the cloudy day is truly the radiance from your smile.
Just a Thought…
