Can’t Stop Me

Romans 1:20 (NIV)
20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

As I look out on God’s creation I sense that his creation has been operating for thousands of years without ceasing.

The sun rises and falls, the moon and stars and all the planets cover the sky. Clouds roll in, the wind blows at will, birds fly and sing, trees grow, die, and replenish on their own. Not to mention the whole world under water that goes about its day or life’s activity built into the soil we walk upon.

Each day this world operates without ceasing.

As humans, we have finite things all around us. Jobs end, marriages end, books end, songs end, cars stop running, clothes wear out, races are over, our body shuts down and ultimately we stop living.

Yet God’s creation never stops.  The sun we see today is the same that appeared at the beginning of time.

Creation is the most evidence we have of pure certainty.  We can rely on it and trust it.  We can’t control it and only attempt to predict it but we know for sure it exists all around us.

We breathe it, listen to it, watch it, hide from it, play in it, meditate on it, paint it, sing about it, try to describe it in words, but we never doubt it.

We can’t stop it but only adapt to it.

The best thing about it is regardless of what world circumstances are carrying on around us we know that God’s creation will always be there.

And when we can slow down enough to enjoy it we find it brings peace to our souls and reunites us with God.
